When the Atkins diet emerged as a diet that doesn't limit people to celery or grapefruits it became one of the most talked about fad diet. The origins of the popular Atkins diet began in the 1960's. Since then the diet has undergone both tremendous growth and scrutiny. The Atkins diet claims to help people lose weight by limiting the amount of carbohydrates consumed.

Much of the Atkins diet's success can be attributed to the fact that it includes foods that many other diets prohibit. For example, the Atkins diet includes high fat foods such as eggs, bacon, cheese and steak. However, these foods – many of them high in cholesterol - are not exactly what some people would consider health foods.

For this reason, the Atkins diet developed and now markets a variety Atkins foods. These Atkins foods are low in carbohydrates and very high in protein in an effort to curb hunger. A couple examples of popular Atkins products are Atkins Advantage bars, Atkins Shakes, and Endulge.

Anyone who is attempting to succeed in losing weight by method of the Atkins diet would surely be pleased with the variety of Atkins Advantage bars. There are Atkins Advantage bars specific to the morning, or for any time of day. The Atkins Advantage bars come in a variety of flavors including
peanut butter and caramel and cookie dough. The bars also meet the diet's requirements with 11 grams of protein, seven grams of fiber, and just one gram of sugar.

In addition to Atkins Advantage bars, there are also Atkins Shakes. Atkins Shakes are a beneficial addition to the diet as they are high-protein, low-carb, contain several vitamins and minerals, and can act as an energy boost or meal replacement on-the-go. Furthermore, Atkins Shakes are available in a variety of flavors such as chocolate, mocha, and strawberry to keep taste buds tantalized.

Keeping taste buds tantalized is something that every diet wishes it could claim, but often cannot. According to the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance, only 2-5% of dieters are successful. One of the major reasons for this low success rate is due to the fact that diets often involve restricting or denying certain foods.

Perhaps one of the most enjoyed and consequentially missed food when dieting is chocolate and sweets. The Atkins diet comes to the rescue again with the Endulge series of Atkins foods. Endulge features Atkins diet friendly desserts such as chocolate covered coconut bars, peanut clusters, and Endulge ice cream.

For dieters that take on the Atkins diet challenge, Atkins Nutrition, Inc. provides a myriad of healthful options in addition to the allowance of rich, fatty foods. Atkins Shakes, Atkins Advantage bars, and Endulge products all provide a tasteful escape from both bland diet foods and high cholesterol, less healthful foods. It's no wonder that so many people turn to the Atkins diet to promote their weight loss.
